Smith recently performed with the high schoolβs orchestra, and the performance immediately went viral. Wearing a pink suit, Smith belted out Sam Cookeβs βA Change Is Gonna Come.β
Smith has been singing since he was 13 years old and was even offered a record deal when he was younger. But nowadays, you can either catch him singing as heβs cleaning the school or with various gospel groups. When the orchestra asked him to perform with it, he jumped at the chance.
Smithβs motto is very simple when it comes to making his job fun:
βWhistle while you work, thatβs my motto,βΒ he told ABC News. βIβm like that every day. It brings joy to the students. The ones that are down and out, I give them something to cheer them up.β
