In the short clip below, Bobby Brown breaks down as he talks about his ex-wife’s and daughter’s deaths and how they were eerily similar.

In January 2015, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub and spent several months in a coma. She died in hospice in July 2015.

“The hardest thing I had to do in my life was to tell my daughter to let go,” Brown said. “My baby’s gone.”

Brown also opened up about his relationship with Houston and her use of cocaine. But there were also financial troubles, he said.

“I came into the marriage with money and I left the marriage with nothing,” Brown said.

Brown’s episode of 20/20 airs Tuesday, June 7, on ABC. His memoir, Every Little Step, will be released released June 14.
