Proof That Javier’s The Real Thing (Duet with Adam Levine)

The big reveal Wednesday night on NBC’s vocal competition The Voice was a real nail-biter, with the top two finalists, Javier Colon and Dia Frampton, coming within 2 percent of each other in audience voting. Which would win out: Colon’s soaring, dulcet tenor or Frampton’s quirky, raspy vocals? Experience in need of a second chance (Colon was once signed to Capitol Records, but it didn’t go anywhere), or raw talent in an endearingly girlish package?

If you saw Colon’s flawless duet with Stevie Nicks (“Landslide”!) just minutes before the results were read, then you already knew the answer. He held his own with one of music’s giants like the star he’s about to become.

Above, you can check out the video of contestants Colon, Frampton, Beverly McClellan and Vicci Martinez sweating it out as host Carson Daly read the final results (what exactly was in that glass Christina Aguilera was sipping from as he read them?); then view earlier footage of Colon’s “Man in the Mirror” duet with his celebrity coach, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.

We’re truly happy for Colon, a husband and father of two, who, in addition to being scarily talented, appears to be a genuine class act.
