Grammy-winning singer the Weeknd is putting his money where his mouth is and has made a $250,000 donation to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Earlier this month, the singer tweeted his support for the organization started in 2013 by Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi.
His tweet came after the deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. And his donation of $250,000 was made just days after he donated $50,000 to the University of Toronto to start an Ethiopian studies program.
