Barely 24 hours removed from tying the record for most weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, the 20-year-old “trailer trap” pioneer has received a jaw-dropping eight nominations at the upcoming 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

“thank u for the vmas nominations,” he tweeted.

Upon hearing the good news, Billy Ray Cyrus, who was featured on the first of many “Old Town Road” remixes, took to Twitter to join in the celebration.

“Thank you for the #VMA nominations!!!” Cyrus tweeted. “We got the #HorsesInTheBack! #OTR”

Other familiar faces include “A Lot” collaborators J. Cole and 21 Savage, who are up for Video of the Year; Anderson .Paak, who’s up for Best R&B, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography; Donald Glover, whose “Feels Like Summer” is nominated for Best R&B; and Solange, who’s up for three awards of her own.

Performers have yet to be announced, but if the past is any indication, expect to see some big names hit the stage when the show airs on Aug. 26. Of additional note, this year’s award ceremony will introduce two new categories: Best K-Pop and Video for Good.
