"I'm just really blessed to work with all of these accomplished actors," Harris said during an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour. "Kelsey went to Juilliard, and Sanaa [Lathan] is a trained actress, too. The cool thing is that I feel like they're respecting my ability, too."

Harris talked about his role, his awe of Will Smith and Queen Latifah and how his approach to acting differs from his musical approach during an exclusive interview with The Root.

Boss begins its second season on Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. ET.
