Stephen A. Smith, sports analyst and social commentator, isn’t one to mince words when it comes to speaking his mind. This time, he’s calling out several prominent Democrats, accusing them of not answering his calls to appear on his podcast. And he’s naming names.

On a recent “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.” episode, the controversial talk show host called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and California Gov. Gavin Newsom as the Democrats he perceives actively avoiding his show.
He goes on to mention that he has invited other Democrats to his show, but has not been able to get any of them to appear.
“Jasmine Crockett has been on this air — invited on this show for four months,” Smith says to the camera. “AOC has been invited on this show for four months. Gavin Newsom has been invited on this show longer than that. Props to Hakeem Jeffries. He’s a friend of the show, always welcomed on here. I like that man. I respect him. Chuck Schumer has been invited on this show. Hasn’t shown up. Where they at?”
Smith also said, “Every single Republican I have asked to show up on this show has either said yes or that they’re coming. Not the Dems. Why?”
Well, some people argued that Smith typically attacks Democrats and even plays both sides of the fence.
Another poster, Billy Marks, was more direct in his criticism of Smith.
“SAS is an opportunistic fool. He has money, but doesn’t hold any power. Blacks are tired of these raccoons labeling themselves as centrist, but leaning towards MAGA ideology.”
Some folks online say Smith seems to have a penchant for disrespecting Black figures in sports or politics, but rarely has the same venom for white counterparts in the same field. He had to apologize in recent weeks after criticizing Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, whom he accused of using inflammatory language when speaking about President Donald Trump.
