The latest installment of the space epic, directed by J.J. Abrams, began rolling out in theaters abroad on Wednesday.

The film hauled in a record $120 million in its first day in the U.S., so its worldwide total is roughly $250 million.

Social media was abuzz with talk about the series, which began with the release of Star Wars in 1977.
