In a recent BuzzFeed report, Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp accused House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance toward him when Rapp was just 14 years old.

At the time of Rapp’s allegations, Spacey was 26 years old and had invited Rapp over for a party, according to BuzzFeed, which reports: “Rapp is publicly alleging ... Spacey ... at the end of the night, picked Rapp up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance. According to public records, Spacey was 26. Rapp was 14.”

As quickly as the BuzzFeed article was released, Spacey attempted to cover his tracks, issuing an apology of sorts:

Oh, and, yes, Spacey came out. But social media gave his apology a vicious side eye:

I’m pretty sure no one is shocked by Spacey’s acknowledgment of being gay, but everyone is definitely disgusted by his conflating it with making a sexual advance toward a minor.
