Our queen of bops, bras and killer highlighter, Robyn Rihanna of House Fenty, revealed to Vogue that she’s in a relationship, and we could honestly not be happier for her.

Rihanna, who graces the cover of Vogue’s June issue, divulged her new relationship status in an interview with the magazine. She also spoke very frankly about Drake, which we’ll get to in just a minute.
“I used to feel guilty about taking personal time,” Rihanna told the magazine, “but I also think I never met someone who was worth it before.”
Look at me, clutching my heart like I just got the last Body Lava bottle in the tristate area.
She didn’t confirm the identity of her lover, but many believe it to be Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel. The two were photographed together at a Spanish villa last summer, and he has periodically been spotted in the same vicinity as the pop star.
Rihanna—who, apart from singing, acting (she’s in this summer’s Ocean’s 8), and running her various beauty and fashion lines, also helms the philanthropic Clara Lionel Foundation—says she’s prioritized taking time for herself:
“Even mentally, just to be away from my phone, to be in the moment, that has been key for my growth,” she said. “Now, when I come to work, I’m all in. Because before you know it, the years will go by. I’m glad I’m taking the time. I’m happy.”
But wait—if this is the first time Rihanna has been with someone “worth it,” where does that put Drake?

“Rihanna winces slightly at the mention of the rapper’s name before her eyes glaze over with cool indifference. “The VMAs is such a fan-focused awards show, so having that energy around me, and knowing the people who had received the award in the past, made it feel like a big deal,” she says.
“Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part. I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.” When I ask about the current state of their friendship, her attitude is sanguine. “We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is.”
Ah, “It is what it is”—that African-American adage that captures every range of misfortune from missing your bus to not being on speaking terms with a man who once called you his “ultimate fantasy.”
I wonder if that icy indifference was the inspiration for her new pastel Killawatt compact. Either way, congrats to Rihanna for winning the breakup—and Drake, don’t worry. I’m sure this was all part of God’s plan.
