Could the New Pope Be Black?

Queen Latifah stopped by Watch What Happens Live on Thursday and tried to make the next four years tolerable by dropping news that a Living Single redux is in the works.

You know what that means? It means that God does love us. If you’re a millennial reading this, then Living Single was black Friends before Friends. If you don’t know about Friends, then stop reading this post and click here.

WWHL guest Jason Sudeikis joked that he “thought Friends was the reboot.”

Vulture notes that while white ’90s sitcoms have seen a revival of late, Living Single would be the first black show to see its on-screen life continued.

Latifah didn’t say whether there were plans to bring back the original cast, although I’m sure Kim Fields is available after her short-lived time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Latifah added that the process is still in the early stages but added that “hopefully we can get it going.”

Now, if we can just get Martin to come back, all is well.
