Just over one year into his second term, President Donald Trump is parting ways with another member of his cabinet. In early March, we reported that Trump had relieved Kristi Noem of her duties as Director of Homeland Security. Now, it’s Attorney General Pam Bondi who will be leaving her post.

President Trump confirmed Bondi’s exit in an Apr. 2 post on Truth Social, writing in part, “Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900.” Trump went on to say that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will step in as Acting Attorney General.
While Trump had nothing but nice things to say about the woman he appointed to be the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, NBC News reported that sources close to the president suggested that he was “frustrated” with how she handled some of his priorities, including dealing with the Epstein files and conducting investigations into his perceived political enemies, such as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, NY Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey. They added that Trump felt Bondi hadn’t “executed on his vision.” The timing of Bondi’s exit is suspicious, coming as the House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena for her to testify on the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
Bondi posted a message of her own, writing in an Apr. 2 post on X, that she was moving on to “an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration.”
But while Trump and Bondi seemed to have nothing but love for each other, Black America hasn’t been shy about saying they aren’t sad to see her go.
Don Lemon shared the news on TikTok, doing what looked like a happy dance. Check it out:
Rep. Jasmine Crockett weighed in on X, pointing out that while Trump has had no problem removing women from his cabinet, the men all seem to be safe…for now, at least.
“I see a theme. He will throw the incompetent women under the bus a lot faster than the incompetent men,” she wrote, in part.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries seconded Crockett’s emotion, writing, “Pam Bondi has been fired. Good riddance. Pete Hegseth is next.”
Some placed bets on who they think might be the next to go, including one X user who suggested United States Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard keep her head on a swivel.
“oh Tulsi Gabbard you in danger girl,” they warned.
Over on X, Plies suggested that Bondi share all of the president’s secrets she’s been keeping close to the vest now that she’s out of a job, writing:
“Damn Pam Bondi He Fired U After U Lied For Him & Tried Your Best To Cover Up For Him! Now That U Fired Tell America Where All The Bodies At U Ain’t Got Shit To Lose!!!!!”
While we know she isn’t Black, we can always count on President Trump’s niece Mary to keep it real about how she feels about the job her uncle is doing in office. As expected, she didn’t hold back, suggesting that Bondi was fired because she couldn’t help the president make his longstanding legal problems go away.
“Donald fired Pam Bondi for one reason and one reason only: she didn’t do enough to cover up for him. And she really tried,” she posted on X.
