From 94-year-old Cicely Tyson on the Ava DuVernay-edited Time “Art of Optimism” issue, to Indya Moore on one of five Teen Vogue Young Hollywood covers, this round of covers is truly a tribute to the diversity of #blackgirlmagic (though a few fellas made an impact, too).

Our hands-down fave of the bunch? But in case you have something—or someone—else in mind, there’s also 2019 Grammy nominees Chloe x Halle glowing on Essence’s first digital cover, for your consideration. (Fun fact: Black female photographer Djeneba Aduayom captured both the sister act and Tyson’s covers month.)

Who else is fronting your favorite magazines this season? Check out a few of the other cover stars you can currently catch on stands.
