In an apparent dream come true for James Wright, whose YouTube review of Patti LaBelle’s sweet potato pie went viral, he celebrated Thanksgiving Day and his birthday with the R&B diva at her home.

In case you didn’t know, LaBelle can cook more than just pie. The holiday-birthday spread on Thursday included shrimp and lobster mac and cheese, turkey, greens, lamb, yams and dressing.
LaBelle also sang “Happy Birthday” to her newfound friend, helped decorate his birthday cake and danced with him to “You Are My Friend.”
And yes, LaBelle’s now-famous sweet potato pie was also a big feature at the event, according to an Instagram post by Questlove, who also attended the festivities.
