Two law-enforcement officers were injured yesterday as Occupy protesters clashed with a pro-white group in Sacramento, Calif., according to the Associated Press.

Close to 100 people were at the scene of the protests that ended in violence between the Occupy protesters and a group called the South Africa Project — a group of primarily white males, some of them with shaved heads and tattooed, who were protesting what they claim is violence against whites by blacks in South Africa. Organizers of the group said that they planned protests in other major cities across the country.
The protests took a turn for the worse when close to 50 Occupy protesters reportedly began throwing objects such as cans and bottles at the South Africa group as police tried to escort them to safety. Fights broke out, and two officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
Three Occupy protesters were arrested for disobeying an officer.
Some of the Occupy protesters said that the group was associated with former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Ryan Stark, 26, who said he is part of Occupy Sacramento, said that he joined the protesters challenging the South Africa Project protesters because there needed to be a showdown. “I didn’t throw anything, but these sorts of demonstrations need to happen,” he told the AP.
