Sacramento Kings player DeMarcus Cousins is spreading holiday joy and giving back, not only to his hometown of Mobile, Ala., but also to people in Sacramento, Calif.

Cousins took 100 kids from both Mobile and Sacramento on a Christmas shopping spree.

“I grew up in these kids’ shoes. Not as fortunate. Didn’t have the best Christmas. Just being able to get these kids clothes, shoes, whatever the case may be. Just something that they, you know, that they want for Christmas. Grant that wish to them. Being able to put a smile on that kid’s face, or family’s face, is more than enough for me,” Cousins said.

Some of the gifts the kids received included Foot Locker gift cards, video games and toys.

In addition to taking the kids shopping, Cousins teamed up with Chase Chevrolet to surprise a deserving family with a brand-new car.
