Less than 24 hours after being crowned Miss Teen USA, Karlie Hay is already trying to talk herself out of controversy. And it’s all because of social media.

It seems as though Hay had a penchant for the n-word and used it quite often on Twitter.

Jeesh … and she didn’t even use “n—ga.” She went full-blown n-word talking to her friends.

Eventually Hay made her personal Twitter account private, but she tweeted an apology from her “official” Miss Teen USA account:

And it looks as though Miss Teen USA, the organization, had a diversity problem this year:
