Michelle and Barack Obama.

Dassit. There are no others who can compare. These two are just cute as all shit in their open and affectionate display of love for each other even after all these years, and it’s a miracle to my old, bitter, cynical heart that you could be with someone for so long and still have that fresh-eyed, honeymoon-type love.

HOW?

Of course, the Obamas just used this St. Valentine’s Day as another opportunity to show us that they’re all in their own little world being the cutest.

First of all, Barack Obama posted a picture of him and Michelle posing in some beautiful countryside, showing all of their teeth, arms wrapped around each other, bronzing in the sun, being glorious.

“You make every day and every place better,” the former president captioned the photo.

Then, not to be outdone, in true “This is that real good love” type of fashion, Aunt Shellie followed up by dedicating a playlist, titled “Forever Mine,” to her “one and only.”

The 44-song playlist had classics such as Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me” and Etta James’ “At Last,” as well as more contemporary hits like Beyoncé’s “Halo,” Janelle Monáe’s “Primetime” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love.”

These two are so freaking adorable (like, why aren’t they my parents?) that it honestly makes my soul crack.

Is this type of unwavering love and support possible? Can you still look at each other the way they look at each other after all them years? After a presidency, on top of that? Have Tinder and Grindr really killed it for us? (I’m joking, but also not really.)

And I’m not the only one; several of the staff members here at The Root were being our jaded-ass, bitter selves, questioning how this is real life while also acknowledging:
