In a statement to the Charlotte Observer, Jordan said the Charlotte Hornets "are opposed to discrimination in any form, and we have always sought to provide an inclusive environment."

HB2 bans anti-discrimination measures based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The law has also brought much controversy to the state because it requires transgender people to use public bathrooms that match the gender on their birth certificate.

"As has been the case since the building opened, we will continue to ensure that all fans, players and employees feel welcome while at work or attending NBA games and events at Time Warner Cable Arena," Jordan said in the statement.

Recently, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that if a change isn't made to the law, next year's All-Star game scheduled for Charlotte might have to find another venue.
