During a surprise Good Morning America appearance, Maxwell invited Holliday to perform with him at his upcoming Detroit show.

โ€œHey, Lucas, this is Max. I saw your video,โ€ the singer said. โ€œYou're singing โ€˜Ascension.โ€™ You sound unbelievable. I wanted to personally invite you onstage at my Detroit show this Friday, and hopefully you'll join us. And congratulations. You have a sick, amazing voice.โ€

Of course Holliday took Maxwell up on his invite.

โ€œPlease, yes, please, please, please, Lord, please,โ€ he replied.

Holliday says he's always singing for customers at the store, but when he's not being a cashier, he's singing in his band, Tell Yo Mama.
