One of the first must-have tickets of the week? Naomi Campbellโs 14th annual Fashion For Relief runway show, which benefits employment programs for the younger members of Londonโs workforce through UNICEF and the Mayorโs Fund. Previously staged in Cannes during the famed film festival, this yearโs event took place in Campbellโs hometown at the famed British Museum, where rapper Eve, now a Londoner as well as a fashion icon, was on hand to entertain the crowd at the afterparty.
โLondon is home to me now... which is kind of crazy to say out loud,โ the expat told British Vogue. โBut I love it here.โ
In addition to the supermodel-heavy roster on the catwalk and the celeb-filled front row, Campbell opted to close the show with 30 students from an area school, who wore Fashion For Relief t-shirts as they walked the runway, โa closing note to remind onlookers of the greater impact the organization continues to have 14 years after its inception,โ wrote Vogue. And reminding attendees that fashion and art arenโt just complimentary but synonymous, Vogue reports:
Naomi Campbellโs Fashion For Relief fundraiser on Saturday night was as glamorous as expected...the auction alone brought in hundreds of thousands of pounds through the sale of pieces by Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Marina Abramoviฤ along with iconic photographs of Campbell taken by Ellen Von Unwerth and David Bailey.
All we have to say is good works look great on you, Naomi.
