However, earlier this week, he discovered that one of his campaign signs had been vandalized withย white lettering that saidย "KKK," the first time he'd ever seen something this blatant, the Kansas City Star reports.

โ€œThereโ€™s some people that just got some dark hearts,โ€ McConico told the news site. โ€œThey saw an opportunity to do something in the dark.โ€
