Legend, along with his partners, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, and Tika Sumpter as executive producer, will tell the historic story of Oklahoma's โ€œBlack Wall Street.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re so excited to continue to grow our relationship with WGN America,โ€ Jackson told Deadline. โ€œOur experience working with them on Underground has been fantastic.ย Additionally, weโ€™re looking forward to working with our friend Tika Sumpter to help tell this incredible story that many people know nothingย about.โ€

The series will be set in Tulsa, Okla., at the beginning of the 20thย century and will take a look at the black middle class that built the community. If the series is picked up, the aim is for a 2018 air date.
