Ja Rule has issued a statement on Twitter saying his event was not a scam and he’s doing everything in his power to make it right:

Earlier:

People expecting a luxurious music festival with performances by Blink-182 and Migos and a Kardashian appearance paid upward of $12,000 to attend a music festival in the Bahamas hosted by Ja Rule. What happens when you drop a bunch of people off in the middle of the Bahamas for this alleged Fyre Festival, not knowing that the promoters and acts had already backed out? It’s a complete Lord of the Rings and Hunger Games shit show.
