Imagine you’re minding your business singing a karaoke song at a local bar. Suddenly, out of no where, the real singer of the song you’re belting out shows up. Well, that’s the reality that happened to one lucky Black woman in St. Louis here recently with TLC group members T-Boz and Chilli— and the wholesome moment was caught on camera!

If you haven’t seen the footage by now, then allow us to fill you in. In the clip, the two iconic singers can be seen hopping out of their car after hearing their 90’s hit “Waterfalls” being played in a local bar. Chilli and T-Boz begin to run inside the bar where singer Tish Period was onstage just ending her rendition. Instead of immediately rushing to the stage, the two stood off to the side and applauded her before Period realized it was really them standing there in the flesh.
Eventually, TLC joined Period onstage and hugged her before explaining how they were outside and heard the song and decided to come on in and see what was going on. Later, during an interview with St. Louis’ KSDK 5 On Your Side, Period reflected on the moment, describing it as “God-ordained.”
“It’s not chance, it’s not odds, it’s not luck,” Period said. “It was a completely God-orchestrated event. My steps were ordered, TLC’s steps was ordered, the driver of the van’s steps was ordered. It was just completely ordered. Shouts out to Olivia, that’s the girl that was driving them, it was completely amazing.”
Once the clip began taking over the social media streets, many were smitten at how gracious T-Boz and Chilli were to the singer and expressed how badly (and hilariously) they would’ve acted if it were them.
“Very respectful to not immediately run on stage,” wrote one user on TikTok.
“This was dope & genuine,” said another.
“They definitely made her night!!” one other user wrote.
Added another, “I would be still rolling around on the floor crying TODAY.”
Over on X/Twitter, similar sentiments were expressed.
“I’m glad phones are real because if nobody recorded this and my momma came home and said TLC hopped on stage with her she’d go to the nearest nursing home,” wrote one user.
“TLC needs to be given their flowers while they can still smell em,” said another.
One other user wrote: “My girls! I would’ve immediately collapsed and started bawling!”
Added another, “I thought sh*t like this only happens in my head.”
