A Houston news anchor was summarily dismissed for a Facebook post blaming President Barack Obama for racism, and—surprise!—praising Donald Trump.

The Daily News reports that Scarlett Fakhar, 25, said she was fired Thursday from KRIV Fox 26 for expressing her “conservative views” on the social media platform.

In what has to be the ironic statement of the week, Fakhar said that our current POTUS has made the country more “violent and racist,” although the Southern Poverty Law Center reports that more than 700 hate crimes have been logged since Trump’s election, with most of them occurring in the first three days.

Fakhar began her diatribe by saying that she was “happy and relieved” that Trump won.

She added, “I prayed for the best leader that will turn this country that has become more violent and racist under the Obama administration than ever … into the America I once knew.”

“Want to talk about going downhill? Look what Obama has done … how he was made the entire country hate one another,” she continued. “Were you happy with how many people were killing each other in our own country? I work in news … and I hate to say it … but the number of African Americans killing one another far outweighs the number of them being killed by whites,” she wrote the day after Trump’s election.

She also blamed the Obama administration for the murder of police officers—“by both blacks and whites.”

Of course, after the boom came down, Fakhar apologized and said that she had breached her journalistic responsibility to be objective. She also claimed that she was not racist because she is herself multiracial—though she stressed that immigrants must “do it the right way” like her Iranian father.

“I need to profusely apologize for making public my personal views on the outcome of the election and other issues. It was wholly inappropriate, as a journalist, to do that. Again, my sincere apologies,” she said.

That post, along with her original postelection apology, has been deleted.

The News reports that Fakhar’s last story for KRIV was a piece about an 11-year-old boy beaten after voting for Trump in a mock election.
