In case you missed it when the sky parted, angels descended from the clouds, and confetti rained from the heavens this weekend, Rihanna was kind enough to reveal that her ninth studio album—tentatively titled Dope As Shit*—is dropping in 2019.

When a fan pressed her on Instagram for the scoop on her new album, Riri kept it short and sweet.
“But when is the album dropping Robyn?” user @0groyalty asked on the “Wild Thoughts” singer’s page. “Can we have a release date for that?”
“2019,” Her Highness replied.
While it’s been two years since she blessed us with ANTI in 2016, she’s spent the time since killing it with her cosmetics line Fenty Beauty, knocking out op-eds for The Guardian, and joining fan favorite Donald Glover on screen in the upcoming Guava Island.
But with music being home base, it’s natural for her fans to get restless as they anticipate her next studio release. In a May cover story for Vogue, we learned of her plans to deliver a reggae album—citing influences such as “Too Good” producer Supa Dups and Bob Marley.
But outside of 2019 bringing us one step closer to 45’s inevitable impeachment, thankfully the Roc Nation signee is giving us something else to look forward to in the new year.
