Talk about a sweet Christmas surprise!
Members of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies pulled together to buy the Tennessee team's intern, identified as Brandon, a new car after his was stolen recently, the New York Daily News reports.
"My man had a tough time. He lost his car; somebody stole it," future Hall of Famer and current Grizzlies shooting guard/small forward Vince Carter explained at the opening of a video that was posted to the team's Facebook page. "Everybody chipped in for him for Christmas; you know, it's the holiday season of giving. That's what we wanted to do."
Brandon can be seen in the video in a parking garage with some of the players, including Carter, when the brand-new car pulls up with a bow on it. The overjoyed intern starts hugging the team members, his face lit up with a big smile. The players urge him to get into the new car as he tries to get over his shock.
"He's trying to hold back the tears right now, but hey, he should cry," Carter said.
