Spotify, the popular online music service that’s rivaling song-streaming site Pandora, has added two apps that aim to make Web communication a tad more intimate.

Fellody and Tastebuds allow music fans to connect based on shared musical tastes, which for some is a fairly important consideration when they’re choosing a potential partner.
Fellody, billed as “all about music, friends and flirts,” analyzes your Spotify library and your profile information. The app finds potential dates with the highest compatibility rate. Users can drop and drag their playlists before searching for others, too. In addition, users can send a “flirt” — just like clicking Facebook’s “poke” button — to someone who piques their interest.
Tastebuds, started by two London musicians, operates in a similar fashion. Enter at least three of your favorite groups into your profile to start. Users, who are linked to potential mates based on the artists they listen to most on Spotify, can also send messages and share music with their connections in real time. If you have a Last.fm account, you can connect to both Tastebuds and Fellody and import music preferences to Spotify.
Given Spotify’s 10 million users, the apps seem to be a unique opportunity to meet loads of new friends or perhaps that special someone who just happens to love Celine Dion or Rick Ross as much as you do. Would you add these apps to find a date?
