The mistress of former NFL player Buster Barnett reportedly killed his wife and herself after a miles-long police chase from Georgia into Alabama, according to 11Alive, WXIA.

Lisa Brown reportedly kidnapped Sandra Barnett, 49, at her Ellenwood, Ga., home just outside Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon, escaping in a Dodge Durango reportedly owned by Buster Barnett. He played four seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 1981 through 1984, according to NFL.com. His wife was a special-needs teacher at McNair Middle School for more than two decades, the report says.
On Thursday, police spotted the vehicle several miles away in Carroll County, Ga., and pursued it on Interstate 20 in a chase that led into neighboring Alabama and included Alabama State Patrol troopers, the report says.
The Durango stopped at mile marker 208. At that point, police say, Brown shot Sandra Barnett and herself.
Barnett’s co-workers mourned the loss of a dependable and cheerful co-worker.
“Everybody just remembers this bubbly, happy spirit—just happy,” co-worker Nimet Muhammad told the news station. “Every day at work, you could just count on her.”
Brown was also a teacher, at North Atlanta High School, and was with the school system from 2008 until 2013, the report says.
