A Detroit police officer has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a woman, after he responded to a 911 call about a domestic dispute, according to MyFoxDetroit.

The officer, Deon Nunlee, 40, was arraigned Friday and charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of assault with intent to penetrate and one count of misconduct while on duty.
The assault reportedly occurred on Oct. 30, 2013, after Nunlee and his partner arrived at a house, where the woman said her boyfriend had assaulted her, the report says.
According to MyFoxDetroit, the officer’s partner reportedly remained downstairs with the boyfriend, while Nunlee accompanied the woman upstairs, where she alleges that he sexually assaulted her in a bedroom. The woman told investigators that Nunlee told her that he would be returning the next morning at 7 a.m.
But the next day, she reported the incident to police, and a rape exam was conducted. Detroit Receiving Hospital, which examined the woman, sent the exam results to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.
Nunlee, a Detroit officer since 2008, denied the woman’s claim, but he was arrested last week after samples from the rape kit were found to have matched his DNA. He has been on desk duty since Oct. 30, Detroit Police Commander Johnny Thomas said at a news conference.
