According to the New York Daily News, Rose and his fellow defendants, Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen, believe that they are "entitled" to "expenses they necessarily incurred in defending themselves against โ€ฆ false claims" that they drugged and raped the woman in 2013.

In his motion, which was filed Nov. 5, Rose also claims that the accuserโ€™s "aggressive pursuit of false claims โ€ฆ [has] taken an enormous, costly and irreparable toll on [him] and his public image and reputation."

Rose is seeking $70,917.16 from his accuser to cover trial costs, including witness fees, depositions, reporterโ€™s transcripts and fees for service of process, the Daily News reports.

In 2015, when Rose was still playing for the Chicago Bulls, the woman claimed that Rose and two friends broke into her apartment and raped her while she was passed out drunk. Rose, Hampton and Allen all admitted to having sex with the woman, whose name has not been released, but maintained that the sex was consensual.

"This was a fake case for money pursued by a Plaintiff who admitted repeatedly to lying under oath and presented no evidence beyond her own self-serving testimony to corroborate any of her fake claims," the court filing reads, the Daily News reports.
