Erica McDaniel, 30, was identified through DNA testing, and her death was ultimately ruled a homicide, the news site notes. The body was found March 23, 2013, shortly after the building in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood was sold.

McDaniel, originally from Kansas, spent a lot of time in her home state, although she had lived in the Brooklyn neighborhood at some point, the news site notes.

Police are asking for help with any clues or information about the deceased woman.
