Bill Cosby now has one less lawsuit to worry about, and it’s all his own doing. Earlier this year, Cosby filed a lawsuit against Andrea Constand, the former Temple University employee who accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her, for violating a confidentiality clause in her civil suit against him, according to CBS News.

Constand’s suit was settled out of court in 2005, and the clause prevented her from talking about any sexual assault and drugging allegations she had against him. But last year Constand spoke about the incident to a Toronto newspaper and to police who had reopened the Pennsylvania investigation after other accusers spoke out.

“With a court validation of his ability to proceed … Mr. Cosby has today stepped away from that suit and will instead focus his efforts on defending himself against the claims that have been lodged against him,” his lawyer said in a statement.

Cosby is now preparing for his felony sex assault trial, but a date has not be set.
