According to a press release via The Recording Academy, the Grammy-nominated R&B crooner will be performing on music’s biggest night this February. The 21-year-old artist is also multiply nominated—for Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, and R&B Performance. She is a first-time nominee.
Not only does she have a huge chance of accepting a gramophone statuette, she now gets to perform onstage for music’s biggest night.
“That’s something that I dreamed about as a kid,” H.E.R. told Rolling Stone in a December 2018 interview, following the nomination announcements. “Like, I practiced a Grammy speech as a child when I couldn’t sleep. It was definitely something I watched growing up with my family. It’s surreal. It’s a major dream come true.”
H.E.R. is certainly a notable rising star, having landed on Barack Obama’s music list of 2018.
“Look mama, I made it!” she tweeted upon hearing the news. Yes. Yes you did. You made it, sis. You’re making it.
She also ended her year with an NPR Tiny Desk concert. Poppin’.
Furthermore, H.E.R. is set to perform at Coachella in April. Can’t stop; won’t stop.
The 61st Annual Grammy Awards will broadcast live on CBS Sunday, February 10 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
