The weekend kicked off Saturday with one of the lesser-known but nevertheless high-profile events, the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Tea Party, held in advance of last weekend’s 76th annual Globes ceremony and the BAFTA Awards on Sunday, February 10. (Nominees will be announced this Wednesday.) In a season filled with black talent, many of our faves were on hand to share a cup together in honor of their shared excellence and triumphs—while dressed in their brunch-worthy best, of course.

But if that was the pre-game, how did our faves unwind after the awards were handed out? Well, almost all the major names made an appearance at the InStyle afterparty, where a few costume changes, a lot of cocktailing, and some healthy kiki-ing took place—that is, if this joy-filled moment between Golden Globe winner Regina King (in Monique Lhullier) and #MeToo founder Tarana Burke is any indication.

And speaking of Kiki, one of the most fun features of InStyle’s annual fête are their famed elevator vignettes filmed by “The Facinator,” photographer Douglas Friedman. The ingenue star of If Beale Street Could Talk made her first emergence through the doors on Sunday night, changing from her awards show blush Dior into a minty fresh Valentino, with help from stylists Wayman + Micah (who also styled Regina King for the weekend).

But Layne was far from the only star to take a turn on the lift, now in its third year. Our Black Panther baes gave the rumor mill a run for their money, Susan Kelechi Watson showed off her dancer’s legs, Tiffany Haddish went In-n-Out in Michael Kors, Janelle Monae showed off her Chanel, while Laverne Cox rocked Hamel, and more... Take a ride with some of our faves below.

But wait—there’s more! All of the action wasn’t in the elevator. Many of the night’s fashion moments happened on InStyle’s silver carpet, where the after-party energy was in full effect.

After all that, we’re seriously questioning whether we have the stamina to make it through the rest of awards season. So if you’re riding with us over the next month, make like Lakeith, and make sure to rest up.
