I live a few blocks from Native Foods; will definitely check it out.

Fair...though no animals have to die for my dairy, right?
You’re the real MVP.
Thank you so much...and that is great advice.
That was so validating, so THANK YOU. I definitely think the goal is to eat whole as much as possible, but it’s definitely been an easier transition having some familiar flavors/textures around.
Incredibly, of all the things that have given me gas during this challenge (including the current agony I’m in after eating vegan bibimbap), that meal was the least of them.
I LOVE FLATOUTS. My carb of choice before this challenge.
Real talk. The realest.
DARK CHOCOLATE...wait, that’s not vegan!
Awww...behold the unwavering support of Contributing Editor Angela Helm, y’all.
Umm...yeah, that’s what’s up. (Is that Indian? Damn.) And Felice is my forever homegirl as well as my talented colleague, so that makes way more sense!
...and thank you, thank you, thank you for all the support, compliments and recognition of my hard work. The positive reinforcement really does help, especially on the rough days.
I don’t even know who Fiona is, but yes, my meal prepping did, unfortunately, suffer last weekend (and might again this weekend, since my editor is coming to town for a hang)—but I’ve revisited your post daily for organizational inspo, which will come in handy whether I’m eating carcasses or not!
I had a pretty decent Beyond Burger the other day and actually just bought some vegan brats because brats, mustard, peppers and sauerkraut are one of my favorite combos (must be the Minnesotan in me). Angelic Bake Shop is sending me some more sprouted bread samples, so I’ll let you know how that goes.
Oh, wow. Congratulations!
Oddly (I guess, luckily), in spite of having gained too much weight over the last couple of years, my most recent physical thankfully confirmed that it’s the only issue I have right now (for now)—which is likely why I’m prone to obsess.
Honestly, if this hadn’t been tied to a celebrity, there wouldn’t have been a story here, since going vegan isn’t anything new (as evidenced by my last stint in my 20s). But on the transitioning tip: it certainly wasn’t 16 years, but I cut out meat about a month ago in preparation for this, just so it wouldn’t be too…
I love Mariano’s and used to live two blocks from one, but moved a few months ago and there are none within walking distance; no Aldis, either (and in keeping with the 20+ years I spent as a New Yorker, I don’t own a car).
Your superiority complex sounds delicious—and low in calories! https://theglowup.theroot.com/22-days-of-eating-like-beyonce-day-2-how-to-swallow-a-1837284268
*shrug* We both copped it and stayed up for a virtual listening session.
