A man arrested in a deadly shooting inside a Harvard University dormitory has been taken from a Manhattan court in handcuffs to face first-degree murder charges in Massachusetts.

Jason Aquino waived extradition at his arraignment Friday in Manhattan Criminal Court. He was arrested Thursday at his Manhattan home.

His attorney didn’t immediately return a telephone call Friday.

The 23-year-old Aquino and two others are accused in the May 18 slaying of 21-year-old Justin Cosby at the university in Cambridge, Mass.

Prosecutors say the men arranged to meet Cosby to get marijuana and rob him. He was shot inside a common area of Kirkland House and died the next day.

Neither Cosby nor any of the suspects was a Harvard student.
