Remember when your dad tried to do your hair and you ended up with lopsided ponytails? Well, one dad in Alabama is trying to help men out, especially single dads, when it comes to hair tutorials and bonding with their daughters.

Darious Bland has been a single dad for seven years, and his biggest issue used to be learning how to do his daughterโ€™s hair.

โ€œWhen I first started, I didnโ€™t even know how to do a basic ponytail,โ€ Bland explained. Then he took matters into his own hands, literally. And as he shows, with practice, everything can become perfect.

Now that heโ€™s mastered the fine art of ponytails, Bland wants to help other dads step up their hair game. โ€œCan Daddy Do My Hair?โ€ is Blandโ€™s way of helping dads by holding workshops and posting tutorial videos. Between teaching men how to do twist-outs and cornrows, Bland is also hoping that dads realize the special bond between a father and daughter.

โ€œThe father is the ultimate role model. Heโ€™s the person that everything kind of falls back on. Heโ€™s the person daughters look to as a male figure, and so do their sons,โ€ Bland said.
