I rarely watch broadcast TV. And I am not that hot about cop shows either. I watch DIY shows. I don't get the fascination with venereal disease metaphor movies and shows (am looking at you Twilight and True Blood). I've never liked Curb Your Enthusiasm, Maureen Dowd or voicemail. I won't buy an iPhone because I hate AT&T. I love Twitter and think of Facebook as a necessary evil. I sometimes watch telenovelas but only as a substitute to dropping acid. I am a huge cartoon and animation junkie and dream of being the voice of a Pixar animation. I’m addicted to caffeine and gossip blogs. My favorite Sex and The City character is, hands down, Samantha. I fantasize about being adopted by Tim Gunn and Oprah.

When I am not in front of the 'puter screen

All I wanted to do was to publish easily my writing on the Web, but what started as a quest for the best blogging platform has been transformed into a career doing technology assessment and Web development consulting for anybody that wants to have a site that handles multimedia and multi-user publishing. I still do the writing and publishing via my blogs: culturekitchen (culture & politics), Daily Gotham (NYC politics), Liza Sabater (technology and moi) and the new The Wise Latina, a project that endeavors to index and connect those dreaded and pesky wise Latinas that are a threat to all Republican white males in the United States.

I am a boomerican: Born in El Barrio, raised in Puerto Rico where I lived until I was 20 years old, and now I’m back living in the East Village. Although I've travel around the country (and some parts of the world), speaking in technology conferences about new media and social Web technologies, you most likely will find me ranting and raving on Twitter where I am most simply known as the @blogdiva.

Would you rather watch I Love New York or Flavor of Love?

Can I have Kimora in Fabulosity or Xzbhit in Pimp My Ride instead?

Girlfriends, Living Single or Sex and the City?

I used to watch Living Single and had stopped watching broadcast TV by the time Girlfriends came around. That means, Sex and the City

Who was your favorite character on “The Wire”? Why?

Ahhh … hmmmm … {clears throat / takes a deep breath}: I never watched The Wire

Which Housewife of Atlanta best describes you?

Oh God, not one of them. They're too high-maintenance for my taste. (Although, I don't what is it with her but I like NeNe a lot.)

What TV family best describes yours?

When my father was around, The Cosby Show. After he left my mother, Roseanne.

What’s your all-time favorite album?

People still buy albums? Being biracial and multicultural, I'd have to go with Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet, U2's Joshua Tree and Ruben Blades & Willie Colon Maestra Vida (Primera Parte).

If the title of any song could describe you, what would it be?

“Morenamia,” by Miguel Bose

Duke Ellington or John Coltrane?

My father actually used to be one of Duke Ellington's opening acts at the Palladium. To earn my bourgie brownie points, gotta say Coltrane.

What was the first CD you bought?

Unforgettable Fire, by U2

Favorite album of 2009?

I bought The Fame by Lady Gaga after not buying an English-language album in like 5 years.

Which artist could sing the soundtrack to your life?

Mary J. Blige or Maria Bethania

Biggie or Tupac?

Maxwell or D’Angelo?

Marvin Gaye

What’s your favorite Spike Lee Joint?

Do The Right Thing

Favorite movie of 2009?

Star Trek (yes, it was awesome!)

Favorite movie of all-time?

Pedro Almodovar's Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown

Denzel or Poitier?

How dare you compare Denzel to Sidney!

Denzel in Mo’ Better Blues or Denzel in Devil in a Blue Dress?

Mo' Better Blues although you forgot the hotness in Mississippi Masala.

Angela Bassett or Halle Berry?

Girl! How dare you compare these two? Although if you put them in a Shakespeare death match, you know that Angela would kick the crap out of Halle—although La Berry wouldn't go down easily without thespiating some to bes or not-to bes :)

Boyz n the Hood or The Wood?

Ossie and Ruby? Or Will and Jada?

I mean, seriously, stop it! Ossie & Ruby FOR3V3R!

Harlem Renaissance or the Black Arts Movement?

How about the Nuyorican Poetry movement or the 1960s "El Boom Latinoamericano" :)

Favorite book?

El Quijote which I have read about seven times and which is the inspiration of two other books I've read almost that many times: Cien Años de Soledad and Huckleberry Finn

What are you reading now?

Two posthumous collections of literary marginalia:  Papeles Inesperados (Unexpected Writings) by Julio Cortázar and El cuaderno verde del CHÉ (Erneso "Ché" Guevara's Green Notebook). They're kind of like blogs but on paper … can you imagine either Cortazar or Che blogging? Blows the mind, ¿verdad?
