In response to the supposed disrespect that he has received from the network regarding Power, the show he executive-produces, Fiddy took to social media Sunday, according to the Jasmine Brand, and told fans to cancel their subscriptions after the Power finale.
According to reports, Power is second in viewership only to HBOβs Game of Thrones, but according to 50, it has received none of the support or accolades.
βI donβt think the STARZ network realize your [sic] watching POWER because itβs my show,β he wrote on Instagram on Sunday (in a post since taken down), the Jasmine Brand reports. βSo take STARZ out of your cable package after you see POWER tonight. Then they will understand I bet. #50centralbet.β
The next day, he continued, writing in part, βPOWER is the biggest invisible show ever. Everybody on the show is bringing their A game. If I donβt shake things up nothingβs gonna change. Itβs a damn shame I have to prove I can move the audience. Catch my New show 50Central 9/27 10:30 pm #50centralbet.β (This post has also since been taken down.)
That last hashtag, by the way, refers to the new show 50 Central, a sketch-comedy series in the vein of In Living Color, which will debut on BET Sept. 27 at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 CT.
