50 Cent Reveals Real Motive Behind New Diddy Netflix Doc

Music mogul 50 Cent’s new Diddy documentary is about to drop on Netflix, but there’s a real reason behind the project that goes beyond trolling!

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is speaking out ahead of his new Sean “Diddy” Combs documentary that’s set to debut on Netflix on Dec. 2. In particular, he’s setting the record straight on his exact motivations behind putting the project out there in the first place–and Diddy’s team has responded.

As we previously told you, the “In Da Club” rapper teased the project in May 2024 and recently dropped the poster for it right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Now, in an all-new interview on “Good Morning America” on Monday, 50 is making it clear that the highly-anticipated documentary has little to do with his personal issues with Diddy, but rather his flawed character as a whole.

“What they consider a pre-existing beef for 20 years is me being uncomfortable with him suggesting he takes me shopping. I looked at it like I was a tester–like ‘maybe you will come play with me’ type of thing. And it’s not personal,” 50 explained to ABC’s Robin Roberts.

What’s more is that the “Get Rich or Die Tryin” rapper said that he also wanted to make this documentary highlighting Diddy’s downfall as a way of showing that the larger hip-hop community wasn’t OK with his behavior.

“If I didn’t say anything, you would interpret it as hip-hop is fine with his behaviors. There’s no one else being vocal… those things would allow an entire culture to register as if they were for that behavior,” the “Power” producer said.

In addition to 50’s interview, a new teaser for the four-part project was also released on Monday. In one clip, you can see Diddy in the days leading up to his September 2024 arrest in a heated conversation with his legal team over an undisclosed manner.

“Listen to me: I’m going to get off the phone right now and I’m going to let you professionals look at the situation and come back to me with a solution. No matter what nobody says–here or there–y’all are not working together the right way. We’re losing,” Diddy said.

However, in a new statement given to the New York Times on Monday, it appears that clip and more are now causing a problem for Diddy and his reps as they’re alleging that the footage was unauthorized.

“We have confirmed that Netflix used footage that was never authorized for release- including private moments, pre-indictment material from an unfinished project, and conversations involving legal strategy that were not intended for public viewing,” the statement read. “The footage was created for an entirely different purpose, under an arrangement that was never completed, and no rights were ever transferred to Netflix. A payment dispute between outside parties does not create permission for Netflix to use unlicensed, private material. None of this footage came from Mr. Combs or his team, and its inclusion raises serious questions about how it was obtained and why Netflix chose to use it.”
