Two-and-a-half million tune in weekly to Finding Your Roots: There's no question about whether Americans are interested in where we come from: Variety reports that nearly 2.5 million viewers tuned in each week on average to watch PBS' Finding Your Roots with The Root's editor-in-chief, Henry Louis Gates Jr. That's 29 percent higher than the PBS prime-time average of 2.1 million. The 10-part series explored race, culture and identity through the genealogies and family histories of notable figures. It came out on DVD this week.
