Abia state police commissioner Bala Hassan told the Associated Press on Saturday that the questioning came after detectives read online comments alleging that the men were involved. Hassan said police haven't spoken to the victim of the rape or received a formal complaint about the attack.

Hassan said that no one has been arrested or charged. Activists allege that the 10-minute rape took place at or near Abia State University. University officials have denied that the attack took place.
