It doesn't matter how rich or famous you are when you're shopping while black, and Zendaya Coleman proved that Tuesday in a series of Snapchat videos.

The actress was shopping at a Vons store in Los Angeles when she said she was denied proper service and treated rudely because of her skin color.
βSo we just got out of this Vons. Now I am trying to buy a lot of gift cards. β¦ There are certain limits and some things, which is understandable,β Coleman stated in the video. βBut the lady that was helping us, I donβt think she was a huge fan of our skin tone.β
A friend who was driving also joined in and said, βNot at all! She was rude.β
βIn fact,β Coleman continued, βI recall her not trying to help us at all, saying that we couldnβt buy the gift cards and then throwing my wallet. I just canβt make this sβt up,β she said. βThis is the sβt we deal with,β she said, and her friend added, βbecause weβre black.β
Coleman went on to correct what she meant when she said the cashier threw her cards. βIt wasnβt like a throw; it was like a toss. She, like, tossed it, with my cards still loose. My cards were loose, so, like, my card fell on the scanner, and she was about to scan the next person!β
βShe was like, βYou canβt afford this,β is how she looked at me,β she said with disgust. βIt was $400! Long story short, thereβs so much progress to be done in our world.β
She concluded with, βItβs all love. Maybe she went on to have a wonderful life.β
