The last nine months for DJ Mustard have been something to remember. Not only did he produce the most-awarded rap song in Grammy history, “Not Like Us,” but he also produced two more mega-hits on Kendrick Lamar’s latest studio album, “GNX.” One of those hits was “tv off,” which heard Lamar yelling halfway through the song, “MUSTAAAAAAAARD!”
That part of the song in particular was so entertaining and hilarious to fans that it instantly gained traction on social media and turned into one of the most viral memes of 2024, with every major company and pro sports franchise account using it on every social media platform. Some fans even suggested that Mustard use it as his new producer tag in the future.
While he hasn’t shared any plans of changing his signature “Mustard on the beat ho” producer tag, the popular Los Angeles producer did announce his plans to work with Heinz for a limited edition collaboration they are calling “Mustard X Mustard.”
Watch the commercial that aired during the 67th Annual Grammys on Sunday:
In a statement, Mustard (the producer), said, “This collab coming to life is a big deal and something that has been decades in the making for me. Everyone knows me for my beats and sound, but what they don’t know is that cooking and grilling is a huge part of my life. I’m on the grill every chance I get. I’ve been using HEINZ since I was a kid, so partnering with them is something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Todd Kaplan, the Chief Marketing Officer for Kraft Heinz, added, “Much like HEINZ, Mustard is someone who goes all in when he creates something to put out into the world. He has been a fan of the brand for years, so it was only a matter of time before Mustard met his perfect match with HEINZ.”
