Here's the kicker: Carson has already said he doesn't want a job in the president-elect's administration.

So, either someone isn't listening or someone has reneged on his earlier statement, or both.

While a spokesperson for Carson wouldn't comment to CNN about the tweet, last week Carson business manager Armstrong Williams said that Carson wasn't interested in a position in Trump's Cabinet because "he has no government experience, he's never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency."

Carson told the Washington Post last week that he is "leaning" toward working "from the outside and not from the inside."

"I want to have the freedom to work on many issues and not be pigeonholed into one particular area," he told the newspaper, CNN reports.

"The secretary of housing and urban development oversees federal public housing programs and helps formulate policy on homelessness and housing discrimination," CNN notes.

The news site notes that the housing secretary's job has become even more important since the housing crisis in 2008. The department is responsible for programs that administer mortgage insurance and rental subsidies to lower-income families.

Surely Trump could find someone more qualified to run this department besides a retired neurosurgeon who's already said he doesnโ€™t want to work.
