Sometimes, enjoying a brand and letting them know it is hard, yet a TikTok creator’s love for Dr. Pepper and her very viral post of a jingle as an ode to the soft drink got her noticed. Now, that simple gesture led to a collaboration between Dr. Pepper and Romeo Bingham (@romeosshow) that debuted during the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Jan. 19.

The young content creator made it simple and catchy, and it garnered over 27 million views and 3 million likes. She simply sang, “Dr. Pepper, baby, is good and nice,” and tagged the soft drink company in the video clip.

The jingle was so catchy that users were remixing it, and it definitely caught the attention of Dr. Pepper executives.
Evidently, after the execs contacted her, the collaboration she requested came to life! The spot aired on ESPN to much fanfare!
In a written statement to The Root, Keurig Dr Pepper Chief Marketing Officer Drew Panayiotou said, “In a world where people proudly express their individuality, Dr Pepper stays closely connected to what fans, especially Gen Z, are feeling, sharing and creating. As one of the most engaged brands on social, we see firsthand how deeply people connect with Dr Pepper. Rather than creating content for social, we build it from social – acting like a true fan account, staying close to our community and joining conversations in authentic, one-of-a-kind ways. When a fan expressed their love for the brand in such a creative and unexpected moment, it sparked real community across our fandom, and partnering with Romeo allowed us to amplify it in a way only Dr Pepper can.”
Several people commented that something done by someone like Romeo was recognized by a company like Dr. Pepper.
Even Romeo posted about her accomplishment! She took to TikTok, while holding a bottle of Dr. Pepper, to give herself an award and to congratulate her followers, Dr. Pepper fans, supporters, family, and everyone who had a hand in making it happen.
