1. a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

2. racial prejudice or discrimination

In our supposedly “post-racial” society, racism is still prevalent. Whether it’s shopping while black, being racially profiled by police or being subjected to discrimination in the workplace, racism is something that people experience on a daily basis.

Racism is easily defined, but will there ever be steps to eradicate it? Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
