Henson announced the release date of her memoir Thursday via Instagram and shared the covers with her followers.ย Around the Way Girl: A Memoir (Simon & Schuster) will be released Oct. 11 and is currently available for preorder.

In the memoir, Henson discusses everything from stories about her Vietnam-vet father to the classism that existed at Howard University and being a single mother.

"I love to play all kinds of characters, and I was trained to do exactly that. But whether itโ€™s Cookie fromย Empire, Queenie fromย The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yvette fromย Baby Boy, orย rocket scientist Katherine Johnson fromย Hidden Figures,ย they're characters. As for the real me, I'm just a girl who went to Hollywood with my son, $700, and a dream. There were some detours along the way, some heartache, and a whole lot of hustle. My family, friends, and fans always keep it real with me. Know that I'm going to keep it real with you. Check out my story. I hope you laugh with me and cry with me and maybe get a little bit inspired," Henson stated on the book publisher's website.

I'm quite sure Henson has some amazing stories and life lessons to share.
